Dubai keeps on breaking new records. The world’s tallest hotel is scheduled to open in just a few months!
The title of the world’s tallest hotel is currently held by the Gevora Hotel in Dubai, with a total height of 356 meters. However, that is about to change soon. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024, the brand-new Ciel skyscraper will be nine meters higher than its predecessor. Interestingly, the project is also being built… in Dubai!
Dubai is set to break its own record for the world’s tallest hotel with the opening of the Ciel skyscraper, which will stand at a whopping 365 meters tall! According to “Business Traveler”, construction works for the 82-floor hotel are 99% complete, while the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical works are 80% complete. The hotel’s façade has been completed up to the 72nd floor, while all other activities are proceeding as planned as well.
The project is being developed by The First Group in collaboration with London-based NORR, which was responsible for designing key elements of the building. The Ciel hotel will feature 82 floors, an observation deck overlooking the Dubai skyline, Palm Jumeirah, and the Arabian Gulf on the 81st floor, and an infinity pool and outdoor bar on the 76th floor. The hotel will also offer 1,042 rooms and suites, a fully equipped spa with treatment rooms, modern and technologically advanced business rooms, numerous restaurants, cafes and pubs, 24/7 laundry services and a fully equipped fitness center.
Ciel hotel’s design has gained worldwide recognition, winning the International Property Awards (IPA) in 2019 and earning top-spot across the four main categories at the 2019-2020 Dubai, Africa & Arabia Property Awards for architecture, construction and design, commercial skyscraper development and high-rise residential architecture.
